| Overview: |
The National Clearinghouse for Commuter Programs
(NCCP) at Northeastern State University and HigherEdResearch.com have partnered to develop the first student survey focused exclusively on commuter and off-campus students.
The NCCP Commuter and Off-campus Student Experience Survey (COSES)
explores the opinions and experiences of commuter and off-campus
students, helping
institutions better understand their commuter population and the needs
that are unique to off-campus students. This web-based "quik survey"℠
is designed to be simple, effective and deliver exceptional value for your institution. The
survey instrument is designed to be succinct to ensure higher response rates and reduce information overload.
Comparative data helps put your results into perspective. An optional customizable comparison report allows you to select a custom comparison group from the participant list in the current year. (minimum of 4 different participants, maximum of 6) The custom comparison group can be re-selected as often as necessary. |

| What you
get: |
- You get a unique URL for your institution, linking respondents
to your institution's custom built online version of the survey
instrument, featuring your institution's logo and color scheme, and
the option to ask institution specific questions (see sample).
- Your respondents will access the survey using a 128 bit
encrypted Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection.
- An option to have students submit their student ID or other unique identifier to validate. Using this validation scheme, you
will be able to link your student responses with valuable
institutional data and limit survey responders to one response per
student. Institutions can opt to exclude ID from downloaded data.
- A password protected administration screen where you can monitor
all aspects of the survey. View real time response rates, results
and comparison data, customize your survey, download your survey data, and see a
summary of open-ended comments.
- Rapid turnaround of survey data. Most survey data can be
gathered in less than 2 weeks and you'll instantly have live access
to the survey data.
